Apple’s iTunes Radio has amassed 11 million listeners since its U.S. debut last week.
The free, ad-supported service, which is available through iTunes 11 and iOS 7, is challenging Pandora, the Web’s most popular radio service.
Apple, in its announcement Monday, said the most popular song on iTunes Radio thus far is ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ by Drake.

News of Apple nabbing 11 million customers for its new radio service in just one week caused Pandora stock to tumble 10 percent Monday to $24.26.
iTunes Radio, like Pandora, is customizable, allowing users to create stations based on their musical preferences.
For instance, if a user is listening to his or her favorite songs on iTunes Radio or from their music library, he or she can customize a station based on those particular tracks. Users can also search for artists, songs, or genres to have iTunes Radio put together a station for them.
In fact, the more a user listens to iTunes Radio and iTunes, the better their experience will be because as the service learns what a particular user likes to listen to, the more personalized that person’s experience will become.

“iTunes Radio is an incredible way to listen to personalized radio stations which have been created just for you,” said Apple senior vice-president of Internet software and services Eddy Cue. “It’s the music you love most and the music you’re going to love, and you can easily buy it from the iTunes Store with just one click.”
Courtesy of its deals with the top three music labels in the U.S. — Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music — iTunes Radio will offer its listeners exclusive “first listen” premieres from top selling artists.
Other handy features include Siri integration and the option to tag or buy any song with just one click.
“Shape your stations by telling Siri what you like and don’t like, or tell Siri to pause, stop or skip,” the company said in a press release. “You can also have Siri add songs to your Wish List to download later.”
